Part 1: The Pier and Boarding
When you arrive at the South Street Seaport Pier 15, you’ll immediately feel those calming after-work vibes ease your demeanor and relax those thinky-muscles. The pier’s lounge has a pretty nice aesthetic, like if a pirate-themed seafood restaurant and sheek cocktail lounge got mixed together, and decided to have an outdoor area too.
Needless to say, you’ll enjoy being at Pier 15. You can even pre-game at the Watermark Bar before your boat arrives. The calming views from the seaport are sure to delight. You’ll see a wide variety of ships with different designs sailing and docking. If you’re lucky, you might just see the FDNY fireboats put on a water show.
Part 2: The boat and the Food
The Hornblower Yacht looks absolutely stunning. It has two climate-controlled interior decks, wide windows and ample table seating where you can get spectacular views. You’ll eventually make your way to the sky deck, with is basically just one big dance floor, with some seating on the side. The sky deck is really where the party really comes to life. There’s also three bar areas located on the vessel where a friendly bartender will cater to your needs.
If you make the brilliant decision to add-on a meal package, and you’re a fan of food, you won’t be disappointed with what the Alive After Five buffet has to offer. We highly recommended that if you’re going to add a meal package, you come aboard on an empty stomach. And that’s with good reason because the food on this cruise is as delicious as it is diverse.
The lower deck of the yacht houses four separate buffet areas. You have the pasta, Tex-Mex, Asian, and veggie stations respectively. Let’s break down each of this stations.
First, we’ll start things off with the Asian station. The delicious, garlic-kale dumplings will draw you in. These crispy bite-size appetizers could make even the staunchest of kale-haters take more than a handful of these delicious treats. Keep moving along, and you’ll have your choice of either steamed chicken, and the fan favorite, General Tso’s. You can’t go wrong with either; so why not have some of both. You can never go wrong with some good o’le fried rice. And don’t forget to add some steamed Chinese veggies to that plate.
On to the Tex-Mex station. A plate of fresh tortillas await you at the beginning, from there you’ll see an assortment of all the necessities for a superb taco or burrito. You have your cheeses, lettuce, pico de gallo, avocado, and of course, seasoned ground beef. You could even get creative and make yourself a General Tso’s taco or burrito, which is as delicious as it sounds.
In the center of the buffet area, there’s the wondrous pasta station. With a variety that includes spaghetti, elbows, and rigatoni. You’ll also have a choice of alfredo, and hearty marinara sauces. And finally, there’s the cold veggie/salad section. You name it here, carrots, romaine lettuce, cucumbers, beets, celery, and more. You’ll even find tasty dips like hummus, guacamole, and babaganoush.

Part 3: The Party and The Sights of Alive After Five
You’ll get great views from the windows of two lower decks. But to truly get that Alive After Five experience, you’ll want to make your way to the sky deck. There, you will experience the cool breeze, and incredible sights of New York City, and even some of New Jersey.
As the rays from the afternoon sun sit beautifully on the East River, you’ll see the skylines of Brooklyn, to Manhattan, to Jersey. The cruise also lets you get up close and personal with the Brooklyn, and Manhattan Bridges. You’ll get a chance to get some pretty dynamic pictures as you go under these historic landmarks.
And it’s not just bridges. You’ll enter the trifecta of landmark islands. The yacht will sail around Governors Island, Liberty Island (home of the Statue of Liberty), and Ellis island respectively. And we want you to experience these landmarks, that’s why the captain slows it down so everyone on the boat can get a chance to take their selfies, videos and what have you.
Besides incredible views, the sky deck is also where the life of the party is. Which makes sense since that’s where the DJ will reside for the entirety of the cruise. You’ll hear a mix of everything from classics to contemporary hits from a wide variety of genres. After a couple of icebreakers hit the dance floor, you’ll see the whole boat feeling the good vibes.
The good feelings will take over, and you’ll see a circle form in the middle where everyone is invited to move and groove, front and center. Everybody’s there to have a good time in a judge-free zone, so don’t be shy, go out and bust some moves. Unless of course dancing isn’t your thing, which is cool too.
